Obama in the Flesh!

Well, I went to see Obama speak downtown G.R. this morning, and needless to say, I was impressed. If nothing else, the man can work a goddamn crowd! His rhetorical skills are amazing and he was whipping the huge crowd (there were at least a couple thousand people there) into a maddened frenzy. I thought alot of things he had to say were very refreshing, and I especially liked the fact that he addressed peoples cynical concerns (mine among them) that he was all bark and no bite. He affirmed, and reaffirmed, that his campaign for change is real, and that through a team effort, meaning citizens and government working together, that we can turn our country around. Hell, if the man even does half of what his campaign promises, it will be a 100% improvement over the last 8 years of hellish smoke and mirrors bullshit. So I say we give the man a chance, and see what he can do. Even if he fails, at least we can take comfort in the fact that for the first time in a long time, someone in Washington tried to do SOMETHING even loosley resembling civil service. God Bless America, Right?

I agree. I feel like electing McCain would be like re-electing Bush.
