Sarah Palin makes me sick!

In the aftermath of the VP debate, Sarah Palin's candidacy only makes me more ashamed to be an American every day. If it wasn't already obvious that she's nothing more than a GOP crafted image to sell to the "give me a candidate i can relate to or give me death" American public, then last Thursday night certainly proved it. I'm so sick of hearing people's weak-ass justifications for supporting her! Example: a friend of mine's mother recently said to me, "I'm supporting Sarah Palin because she prays!" I almost vomited on her white linoleum floor! If the only criteria we had for our leaders was that they prayed, we would end up with a Cabinent full of televangelists or some shit! Or, how about this one: "I'm supporting Sarah Palin because she has children with dissabilities, so she understands people with dissabilities!" My opposition to this extremely flawed logic lies in the example of one man: our current Vice President, Dick Cheney. As you might remember, Dick has a daughter who is openly gay. Did that make him a good candidate? Because his having a lesbian daughter enabled him to "relate" to a certain demographic of people, in this case homosexuals? Fuck no! Let me repeat that. Fuck no! Not only were Mr. Cheney and his administration adamant opponents of gay rights, they were adamant opponents of human rights in general. By that trend, Palin will be pushing to have disabled people shot from planes in no time. Honestly people, let's put a little fucking thought into our political views, or we're going to end up with exactly the government we deserve.
